René Lohse

René Lohse, married. Sachtler Lohse ( born September 23, 1973 in East Berlin ) is a former German figure skater, who started ice dancing.

Career

René Lohse is the son of Michael and Alrun Lohse. He has a brother named Rico and a sister named Romy. In his hometown of Berlin, he came up with four years to figure skating, as he sure was, as usual, in the GDR, showing in kindergarten. Lohse began as individual runners and was trained by Romy Kermer. In 1983 he moved the coach and went to Jürgen Bertko.

At the age of 12 years Lohse gave up figure skating for the exercise of other sports. Two years later he returned to his old sport and was asked by Kati Winkler, whether he wanted to be her Eistanzpartner. Lohse agreed and so both trained from 1987 to Knut Schubert, who actually specialized on pair skater. After the retirement of the best Eistanzpaares from the GDR, Anne Rose Baier and Eberhard Rüger, the figure skating ice dance discipline had disappeared in the GDR from 1971 to 1989 out of the picture. During this period, no national championships were held in ice dancing. Kati Winkler and René Lohse has been made in re-establishing the discipline in 1990, the last Eistanzmeister the GDR.

1993 debuted Winkler and Lohse at European Championships and 1995 World Championships. 1996, they were all-German champions for the first time. In the same year they went to Oberstdorf to coach Martin Skotnicky. However, getting started for the SC Berlin (formerly SC Dynamo Berlin). Both were regular soldiers and were supported by the German army. Their choreographers were Kelly Johnson, Marc Bogaerts and Werner Lipowsky.

1998 Winkler and Lohse denied their first Olympics and finished it in tenth place. At the World Cup and European Championship they finished in ninth place respectively and were arrived in the advanced world class. Over the next four years they showed continuous performance at World and European Championships and reached rank placements of five to seven. In 2000, she failed to qualify as the first German ice dancers for the Grand Prix Final. There they were fifth. In her second Olympics they finished in eighth place in 2002. A few weeks earlier, Lohse was injured in a practice crash at the knee. In summer 2002, he was injured again when he had a bicycle accident in Oberstdorf. Although he recovered and qualified with his Eistanzpartnerin for the Grand Prix Final, but this they had to cancel at Lohse due to influenza in Winkler and a muscle injury. Due to renewed ligament injuries in Lohse's knee she missed the 2003 World Cup and the European Championship in 2004. Lohse was just in time to fit to participate in the 2004 World Series in their own country, in Dortmund to. There Kati Winkler and René Lohse won the bronze medal. It was the biggest success of German ice dancer who won since 1973 as Angelika and Erich Buck their last world championship medal. After their success at the World Championships Winkler and Lohse ended their competitive career.

René Lohse is a professional degree in Sports and Tourism Manager. He works as a trainer in Berlin. His students include, inter alia Carolina and Daniel Hermann.

Lohse is married to the former figure skater and current coach Anne Sachtler. In May 2011, their son was born.
