Rennie Airth

Rennie Airth (* 1935 in South Africa) is a South African writer.

Airth worked as a foreign correspondent for Reuters news agency before 1969 and 1981, was known for a trilogy of 1921-1944 recognized detective novels featuring the detective Inspector John Madden of Scotland Yard after two less acclaimed novels since 1999. The first volume of the trilogy, River of Darkness, was nominated in 2000 for four awards, including the Anthony Award and the Edgar, and was awarded the prestigious French Thriller Prize, the Grand prix de littérature policière.

Airth lives and works in Italy.
