Rens Blom

Rens Blom (* March 1, 1977 in Munstergeleen ) is a former Dutch athlete who in 2005 in the pole vault with 5.80 meters world champion.

His first success on the international stage he had when he won at the European Indoor Championships in 2000 with a height of 5.60 m the bronze medal. Also, he was third at the IAAF World Indoor Championships in Birmingham in 2003 (5.75 m). In the 2004 Olympics he finished ninth after he had four years previously eliminated in the qualification.

His personal best he scored with 5.81 m ( Dutch record ) on 8 June 2004 in Zaragoza. After numerous injuries Blom was in September 2008 that he finish his sports career. Rens Blom had a competition weight of 75 kg at a height of 1.78 m.

Rens Blom is a Knight of the Order of Orange- Nassau.
