Renville County (Minnesota)

The County is located in the central southwestern Minnesota on the northeastern shore of the Minnesota River, a right tributary of the Mississippi. History

The Renville County was formed on February 20, 1855 from parts of Nicollet County, Sibley County and the only surviving in Wisconsin Pierce County. It was named for Joseph Renville (1779-1846), one of the first white settlers of the area.
