The Reppisch in Dietikon
The Reppisch is a 25 km long river, which rises in the Türlersee and flows Dietikon in the Limmat. It is eponymous for the Reppischtal. At the mouth of the Reppisch has a mean discharge of 1.3 m³ / s The Reppisch flows in Säuliamt ( District Affoltern ), Canton of Zurich, nor by partially untouched nature.
Between Birmensdorf Dietikon and the river runs through a narrow valley, which is used by the infantry stationed in the nearby barracks troops of the Swiss army as a firing range. On weekdays, this section of Reppischtals therefore can be locally disabled. Otherwise, however, the valley is a popular area for walkers and cyclists.
Shortly before Dietikon the river passes under the Mutschellen pass road and the tracks of the Bremgarten - Dietikon railway. In this area occurred in the spring of 1999, severe flooding, causing the road and the railway line were interrupted for several days.
