With representation (from Latin repraesentare, visualize ' ) is called in philosophy the realization of not immediately given in the imagination. Neuro Scientific representations are understood as mental states. For information on names of representations and expressions such as, presentation ',' representation 'or' image ' can be used. In the philosophy of antiquity to the early modern period an image ratio was mainly adopted between the objects and their mental representations. In contrast, we find in Thomas Hobbes already theorized that mental representations are to be regarded as a language- like symbol pattern.
