Republic Aviation

The Republic Aviation Company was an American aircraft manufacturer based in Farmingdale, Long Iceland, in upstate New York. It was founded by Alexander de Seversky as Seversky Aircraft Corporation in 1931, but could not operate profitably under his leadership. Serversky was forced in 1939 to lay down the line. The company was then reorganized as Republic Aviation Company.

Before and during the Second World War they made the P -47 Thunderbolt ago. Other important aircraft in the company's history were the F-84 Thunderjet and F -105 Thunderchief.

The company introduced 1964 the construction of aircraft, before it was acquired by Fairchild Hiller end of 1965.
