Republic of North Peru

The Republic of Northern Peru (Spanish: República Nor- Peruana ) was one of the three Republics of the short-lived Peruvian- Bolivian Confederation. It existed from 1836 to 1839 capital. Was Lima.

History

The state arose as a result of the Bolivian occupation of Peru. Territorial outline

Northern Peru consisted of the northern four provinces of Peru before 1836. This territorial organization was maintained later on. Contemporary literature calls occasionally only three provinces, as the Amazonian province ( called Pampas ) was inhabited by Europeans almost unexplored and almost exclusively by indigenous peoples.
