RER D

The RER D is one of the most important north -south connections to the Paris suburb of transport in the Ile- de -France region. It connects to the north Orry- la- Ville- Coye (D1) and Creil (D3 ) with Melun (D2) and Malesherbes (D4 ) in the south. She crosses the city and meets important nodes such as the Gare du Nord, the Gare de Lyon and the central interchange station Châtelet - Les Halles.

The D line is 160 km long, some of their breakpoints, about Malesherbes in the south and all stations north of Survilliers - Fosses are already outside Paris tariff system. It is fully operated by the SNCF.

Route

Survey

Northern branch

North of the capital, the line of Villeneuve -Saint -Georges runs from north past the Stade de France and the city of Saint- Denis. In Orry- la- Ville- Coye finally ends the main branch D1. This is followed by the route Creil (D3 ) follows, although actually has low ridership, but is still served by the line D.

Paris

Initially, the line divides D from the Gare du Nord to Châtelet - Les Halles a tunnel with the RER line B. This leads to major problems and requires at peak times daily logistical feats. She then runs parallel to the RER line A to Gare de Lyon. Then the line runs first right of the Seine until it divides into the station Villeneuve -Saint -Georges.

Southern branches

D 2 Melun on Brunoy: On the one now performs a branch via Brunoy and Lieusaint - Moissy to Melun.

D 4 Malesherbes / D 6 Corbeil -Essonnes: The other road leads over Juvisy, interchange station for Line C, to Viry -Châtillon where again held a ramification: D 6 as the line over to Evry Corbeil -Essonnes runs. On another route via Orangis - Bois de l' Epine, the line reaches 4 D also Corbeil -Essonnes, from where it continues towards Malesherbes. From Corbeil -Essonnes a line branches off from Melun, but not part of the RER network.

  • A = Gare du Nord
  • B = Malesherbes; distance D4
  • C = Creil
  • D = Gare de Lyon
  • F = Goussainville
  • H = Orry la Ville - Coye; distance D1

  • R = Corbeil -Essonnes
  • T = La Ferte - Alais

Again, the letters clearly. The train " BIPA " goes to Malesherbes, train " VICK " to Villiers -le- Bel on the line D1 in the direction Orry.

Future

Because of the restrictions imposed by the common use of tunnel in the center of Paris is the line D often at the limit of their capacity, and also the problems with punctuality are enormous. Therefore, for a long time to build a second tunnel between Gare du Nord and Châtelet - Les Halles thought, possibly with the result of the establishment of a new branch in the north.

The Pierrefitte station - Stains should be removed for crossing station with the planned Tangential North.
