RER E

The RER E is one of the RER lines of the Paris public transport system.

She is the youngest of the lines and also the only RER line which does not pass through the city, but intra muros ends.

The line has its starting point in RER station Haussmann - Saint- Lazare has below the Boulevard Haussmann, which is associated with the Saint- Lazare train station and so following the Métro. She took in 1999 to its operation.

The line is often referred to as EOLE, short for Est -Ouest Liaison Express ( Express connecting east-west)

Trains name

The exact curve is shown using a 4-digit abbreviation whose first letter is representative indicating the terminus.

  • C = Chelles - Gournay; route E2
  • E = Émerainville - Pontault- Combault
  • H = Haussmann Saint -Lazare; route E1
  • J = Gagny
  • N = Magenta
  • T = Tournan
  • V = Villiers -sur -Marne - Le Plessis- Trévise; route E4

Example: train " COLE " continues to Chelles - Gournay, " VALO " However, according to Villiers -sur- Marne. Both train movements start in a Haussmann Saint -Lazare. To switch off the track E2 E4, a switch is necessary.

Future

There are plans to station Haussmann - Saint-Lazare to connect to the west of La Défense and to include some previous Transilien connections in the network of the RER E.

Construction is scheduled to be 2014. From the train station Haussmann - Saint- Lazare, the tunnel via Porte Maillot (transfer RER C ), La Défense (transfer RER A) is extended to Nanterre, the line should be above ground continued to Mantes -la- Jolie. Opening to be in 2020 ( in part) or 2022 ( complete). The connection to the RER A or bring relief for the RER B ( between Gare du Nord and Châtelet) ( between La Défense and Auber ) in the order of 10 % -15 % and also relieve the transfer hubs Châtelet -Les Halles.

At present, the new station is created between the stations Pink Magenta and Pantin parks. It creates an interchange with tram T3b. The opening is planned for 2015.
