Reruhi Shimizu

Reruhi Shimizu (Japanese清水 礼 留 飞, Shimizu Reruhi; born December 4, 1993, Myoko, Niigata Prefecture) is a Japanese ski jumper. His biggest international success is winning the bronze medal in the team competition at the Olympic Winter Games 2014 in Sochi.

Career

Shimizu, the ( Megmilk Snow Brand Ski Team雪印 メグミルク スキー 部, engl. ) Starts for the Japanese team Yukijirushi Megmilk ski bu occurred internationally for the first time on March 2, 2008 appearance, when he took up with a FIS competition in Sapporo. After he finished only 35th place there, he was initially not used internationally in the coming years. In summer 2011, he first appeared in two FIS Cup jumping in Villach, Austria in Europe and celebrated his first international victory here on 17 July 2011 after he had already occupied seventh place on the previous day. This success meant that he was employed in the Continental Cup and also in the Summer Grand Prix at the end of the summer season. In the following winter season, he raced mainly in the Continental Cup and reached there 29 November 2011 in Rovaniemi, Finland with tenth place his best placement.

At the Nordic World Ski Championships for Juniors in February 2012 in the Turkish Erzurum, he finished in the individual 13 and with the Japanese team in the team competition tenth. His start in the summer 2012 season began with a bang: DC on his first jump in the French Courchevel he won ahead of Andreas Wank and Tom Hilde his first Grand Prix jumping. Four days later he was in Hinterzarten with space two equal his second podium finish, this time behind Wank, follow. After another good finishes, he finished fourth in the overall standings of the Grand Prix.

As a result of the good summer performance he was nominated for the upcoming season as an integral part of the Japanese World Cup team. At the start of the season on 24 November 2012, he was not only the first time to qualify for the competition but also achieve his first three World Cup points than 28. Two weeks later he scored in Sochi, Russia with rank nine and ten, his best results so far in this competition.

In the 2013/14 season Shimizu celebrated with third place in the team competition in Klingenthal his first World Cup podium. At the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi in 2014, he was ranked 18 on the normal hill and tenth place on the large hill, before the bronze medal in the team competition celebrated his biggest international success on 17 February 2014.

Reruhi Shimizu's first name is based on the last name of Theodor Edler von Lerch (Japaneseテオドール·エードラー·フォン·レルヒ, Teodo -ru e - dora - fon reruhi ), who lived from 1910 to 1912 in Japan as an exchange officer and there alpine skiing established.
