ResEdit (from " Resource Editor") is a computer program from Apple to manage the so-called resource forks of computer files. ResEdit is one of the standard tools of program developers on Mac OS (up to 9), the classic operating system of the Macintosh.

In the HFS file system of Macintosh, the computer files consist of a so-called data fork and a resource fork. The resource fork is used to record sounds, images, text and other elements. This has the advantage that needs to be changed, for example, in location of a computer program to translate not the actual program code, but only the resource fork.
