Restless and Wild is the fourth album by the German heavy metal band Accept. It was released in October 1982 in Germany and in March 1983 in the USA and Great Britain ( 98).
History
It was the first Accept album, which was not included in the Delta Studio, but it was recorded in the Dierks Studios in Stommeln. It is also the first Accept album in which Udo Dirk Schneider sings each song. January Koemmet joined the band at just before the release of this album, but was not involved in the recording. Although Wolf Hoffmann has recorded the guitar for the album alone, Herman Frank was specified on the album cover.
The album is arguably become best known by the title "Fast as a Shark", which is counted to the first speed metal song. The album was released outside Germany with a different cover, a live image of the band. The American death metal band Cannibal Corpse has made a cover version of the title "Demon 's Night". He came out on their EP Worm Infested. On 25 January 2011, the album was premiered in its entirety at a special show in Switzerland.
The last song " Princess of the Dawn" ends abruptly. At a later compilation, the end is faded out.
Reception
Hansi Daberger of Rock Hard magazine wrote in his review for the best list of the editors of the magazine, reached in Restless and Wild # 81, the album was then asked " the native metal world almost completely upside down ." The plate is true " as one of the most brilliant discs has ever produced the Teutonic Metal". He particularly praised the " razor-sharp riffs " and the powerful production.
