Reto Suri

Reto Suri ( born March 25, 1989 in Zurich ) is a Swiss professional ice hockey player who plays for EV train in the Swiss National League A since 2012.

Career

Reto Suri comes from the junior section of the Kloten Flyers and also completed his first games in the men's ice hockey in his parent club. However, Suri was able to prevail in coach Anders Eldebrink not right and so he decided to rely on the club.

For the season 2008/ 09 he therefore moved to league rivals Genève -Servette HC, where he signed a contract for the next two seasons. In his first season in western Switzerland, he completed 26 games for the Genève -Servette HC, but was borrowed in the meantime also to the Lausanne HC in the National League B. In the 2009/10 season, coach Chris McSorley was always more pleased with the play and development of Suri and made him a regular player. After a successful qualification phase with the Genève -Servette HC succeeded Suri to show, especially in the subsequent playoffs, the potential comprised in him and helped his team had a loser from the ice until the play-off final against SC Bern.

After completion of the season 2010/11 Suri decided in the German Switzerland back and signed a two -year contract with the Rapperswil -Jona Lakers. Although the season for the team overall was disappointing and they managed the league until the playout final against HC Ambri -Piotta, this season was personally Suri the most productive. In 59 games he scored 18 goals and 16 assists.

In December 2011 it was announced that Suri will not extend his contract expiring at the end of the season the Lakers, but will be in the service of EV train from the 2012/13 season, where he has signed a three -year contract. In the 2013/14 season he was PostFinance leading scorer with 36 points.

Internationally

Suri completed a total of 49 games for the U -18, U-19 and U-20 selections of his country. During the 2010/11 season he was called up for the first time for the Swiss national team and has played more three games in the team of Sean Simpson.

At the World Championships in 2013 in Stockholm and Helsinki, he was first appointed to the World Cup squad of men's national team and won the silver medal with this.
