Cover

The cover photo of the album is the 1892 incurred vanitas image All is Vanity by Charles Allan Gilbert modeled and shows a woman sitting in front of a dressing table. At second glance, however, one realizes that in the picture as a skull is shown, in which the mirror dictates the shape of the skull, the head of women is the eye sockets of two superimposed hanging curtains and a candle the nasal cavity is formed and through the front mirror bottles standing rows of teeth are simulated. A hanging on the front of the table cloth down forms the lower jaw.

In contrast to the painting on the cover shows the woman in a white instead of a black dress, so that the ambiguity of the image is not immediately apparent. However, the woman sitting in a shadow that darkens her back and the lower part of the dress and thus makes the image effect possible.

The German edition of the CD was also provided with a sticker. In white letters could be read on a blue background:

" This is neither a new DEF LEPPARD album, nor is it an old DEF LEPPARD album. It's RETRO ACTIVE (review) -. A collection of songs that have appeared here and there, but were difficult to find or have never left the studio "
