Reuben Meade

Reuben Meade ( born March 7, 1954) is a mont serra matic politician and, since 10 September 2009 Office of the Chief Minister of the island.

After studying Meade worked as a consultant before he worked as development director at the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development. On 10 October 1991 Meade was sworn in as the fourth Chief Minister of Montserrat and led this office until 13 November 1996. From 1997 to 2006 he sat as Leader of the Opposition in Parliament before 2007 to 2009 Minister of Agriculture, Land, Housing and Environment had.

September 8, 2009 Reuben Meade resigned as party leader of the Movement for Change and Prosperity to in the early general elections. His party won six of nine seats, the absolute majority in parliament. On 10 September 2009 he was sworn in as the new Chief Minister. He thus replaced from Lowell Lewis of the Montserrat Democratic Party.
