Reupzig is a district of the city in the district of Southern Anhalt Anhalt- Bitterfeld, in Saxony- Anhalt.

Reupzig between Köthen (Anhalt) and Bitterfeld- Wolfen.

History

Reupzig was first mentioned in 1160 as Rupice documented.

Until the formation of the unified community Southern Anhalt on 1 January 2010 Reupzig was an independent municipality in the administrative community Southern Anhalt with the associated hamlets Breesen, Friedrichsdorf and Storkau. Last Mayor of Reupzig was Hartmut castle home.

Structures

The parish church of St. Christopher in Reupzig is a building from the 13th century.

Transport links

South of the village the highway 183 of Bitterfeld-Wolfen runs to Köthen (Anhalt).

Events

The Leisure and Cultural Association Reupzig organized every year a feast of Pentecost. The annual ring stinging and the alternative ring piercing, in which participants with vehicles of their own choice eg Compete against each other tractors or mopeds, has a long tradition. In 2010, a parade was held with historical GDR vehicles and groups in period costume on the occasion of 850 years celebration. In addition, a small museum, which is open each year to the Pentecost. It will be shown there historical everyday technology, old photographs of buildings from Reupzig, Breesen and Storkau and all certificates and the like.
