The Reuss Chamber Orchestra eV is a chamber orchestra in Gera, Thuringia, located as part of the Theater & Philharmonie Thüringen looks.

History

Building on the tradition of the court orchestra of the Reuss court, which can be traced back to the year 1696, the Gera concert life developed.

From the ranks of soloists and members of the Philharmonic Orchestra of the " Chamber Orchestra of the stages the city of Gera " was founded in the season 1960/61, from 1 concertmaster Herbert Voigt. 1987 was awarded the title " Philharmonic Orchestra " and in 2000 united with the equally traditional country chapel Altenburg.
