Reutigen

Reutigen is a municipality in the administrative district of Thun in the canton of Bern in Switzerland.

City Manager is Simon Mani. In addition to the community of the same name, there are also a civic community and a Reformed congregation.

Geography

Reutigen located in the Bernese Oberland on the Kander. On the municipal area of Feusibach and Fluhbach Glütschbach to unite. The neighboring communities of north clockwise are starting farms, Zwiesel mountain, Spiez, Brodhüsi, Erlenbach im Simmental and Niederstocken.

Policy

Mayor of the municipality is Beat Wenger (2009).

The voting shares of the parties at the national elections of 2011 were: SVP 42.6 %, BDP 22.5 %, SP 9.2 %, GPS 5.0 %, EDU 4.9 %, EPP 3.7 %, glp 3.6 %, FDP 3.3 %, Alps Parliament 1.0 %, CVP 0.9 %.

History

The first written mention of Reutigen dates from the year 1300 to be Rötingen. The introduction of management circles in the canton of Bern joined Reutigen, which belonged to the district of Lower Simmental before, in the administrative district of Thun.
