Review of Financial Studies is a monthly journal for research in the field of finance.

Background

After discussions on an appropriate publication for research in the field of Finance Michael Brennan, George Constantinides, Jon Ingersoll, Chester Spatt, and Joseph Williams in 1986 initiated the founding of a new journal. To this end, the Society for Financial Studies founded the following year as a non-profit organization that took over the editorship of the Journal and Oxford University Press became the publishing house. Brennan became the first chief editor of the magazine, whose first issue was published in 1988.

Reception

Michael Brennan Award
