Rexam

Rexam, listed on the London Stock Exchange in the FTSE 100, is a packaging means and beverage can producer from the UK. The company was founded in 1923 and is headquartered in Millbank, London.

Around 22,000 employees (2006) are employed in more than 20 countries at Rexam. Rexam is in the top 5 for packaging manufacturers worldwide and is the world's largest manufacturer of beverage cans. In October 2002, Rexam acquired the German company Nienburger Glas GmbH.

Business

Rexam PLC is divided into four sectors:

  • Beverage Can America
  • Beverage Can Europe & Asia
  • Plastic Containers
  • Pharma

The glass sector was represented in Germany by the Rexam Glass Germany GmbH. On 12 March 2007 Rexam announced the entire glass sector with 13 locations in Europe for 660 million euros at the Ardagh Glass Group to sell ( Ardagh Glass Germany GmbH ), which is approved by the antitrust authority became effective in June 2007.

Rexam operates in Germany three doses works (Berlin, Gelsenkirchen and Recklinghausen ) and a cover drive ( Recklinghausen ) and an establishment for the manufacture of pharmaceutical plastic packaging in Neuenburg am Rhein. In Austria there is a can plant in Enzesfeld and a can plant in Ludesch ( opened in 2007), which is used exclusively for the production of cans of Red Bull and has a direct connection to their bottling plant.
