Rexel

Rexel S. A. is headquartered in Paris in the distribution of electrical equipment and electrical components of specialized French listed wholesale group and one of the world's leading companies in the industry. Which operates with 2,100 stores in 37 countries, the Group employed approximately 28,000 employees in 2011. The shares of Rexel is listed on the Euronext Paris Euro.

History

The company was founded in 1967 as Compagnie de Distribution de Matériel Electrique ( CdMe ) and initially worked only in France. From 1980, the CdMe abroad began to expand. In 1990 the company was taken over by Pinault ( PPR today ) and renamed Rexel 1993.

2005 Rexel was completely by a private equity consortium of investors consisting of Clayton, Dubilier & Rice, Eurazeo and Merrill Lynch Global Private Equity acquired. The acquisition of the distribution business of General Electric, which is now run under the name Gexpro was Rexel industry leader in North America. 2007 sees the consortium of investors Rexel through an IPO on the stock market.

In 2008, the acquisition of the Dutch Hagemeyer Group took place.

Presence in Germany
