Rheumatology

Rheumatology is a branch of medicine that deals with the diagnosis and treatment of most chronic diseases. Meanwhile, about 400 diseases to rheumatic form circle are counted.

Causes

Causes of rheumatic diseases are mostly auto-immune diseases, as consequences of wear and tear. The majority of rheumatic diseases, especially autoimmune diseases, are associated with inflammatory processes. The collective term used earlier rheumatism does not refer to a specific cause disease.

Manifestations

Rheumatic diseases often get together by

• Pain in the musculoskeletal system ( skeleton, muscles, tendons )
• Metabolic disorders and malfunction of the internal organs
• Erosions of skin and damage to the sense organs

Following are some examples here to rheumatoid arthritis (including rheumatoid arthritis ), and polychondritis (RP ), the ankylosing spondylitis and lupus erythematosus (SLE).

Other rheumatic diseases lead to pain without detectable systemic inflammatory activity, for example as a result of wear and tear as in osteoarthritis or metabolic disorders like osteoporosis.
