Name

The name is derived from the two rivers Rhine and Neckar rivers, which flow through the region. The Neckar flows into the Rhine at Mannheim. The settlement in and around the Rhine Graben and the ship traffic have done for centuries their contribution to the growing cultural, social and economic structures.

Expansion

History

Future metropolitan region Rhein- Neckar e.V.

The future metropolitan region Rhein- Neckar eV eV was founded in 1989 as the Rhine-Neckar triangle to help the region build their own identity and the benefit of their potential.
