Exterior

The Rhineland Warmblood is a warmblood type in the German riding horse. Features include a lightweight neck, a long Rist, stable back, deeper medium wide hull and a strong slightly sloping croup performance and a deep set tail. They also have hard limbs and no curtain. They come in all colors and their shoulder height is approximately 160 to 170 cm.

Interior

The Rhineland Warmblood is a horse medieval type with good mechanics and sweeping, expansive gaits. It also has good jumping ability and is suitable as a sport horse for all disciplines.

History

The Rhineland was a long time the main breeding area of the Rhenish- German Cold Blood. Only after the second world war own warmblood breeding was rebuilt after the example of other states. The breeding due mainly to mares from Westphalia as well as horses from the Hanoverian breeding and Trakehner. The breed was standardized by the strong commitment of the East Prussian stallions. Later Hanoverian stallions were -Westphalian descent preferred. Today also Holsteiner and Thoroughbred be used.

Breeding organization

The Rhenish Horse Breeders' Association has its headquarters in the castle Wickrathberg in Mönchengladbach- Wickrath. Here the stud book is out. Taking care of the breeder happens in practice on the local circuit horse breeding associations that work in cooperation with Pferdestammbuch, and organize the mares and foals entries.
