The Rhode Iceland School of Design ( RISD abbreviated ) is an American College of Art and Design in Providence, the capital of the U.S. state of Rhode Iceland.
History
The University Founded in 1877, is located in direct proximity to Brown University on the grounds of the College Hills of Rhode Iceland. Both institutions share academic and social resources and offer joint courses that can be used free of charge by the students. Together with the Cooper Union applies the Rhode Iceland School of Design as a prestigious art school in the United States.
At RISD also includes the Rhode Iceland School of Design Museum, which houses more than 80,000 works of art. School and Museum currently employ approximately 350 faculty and curators, and 400 other employees. Currently, approximately 2,300 students from the U.S. and abroad are enrolled as full-time students at RISD. Students are offered as a bachelor's or master's degrees in 19 majors. The RISD currently has over 17,000 graduates.

" The mission of the Rhode Iceland School of Design, through its college and museum, is to educate its students and the public in the creation and appreciation of works of art and design, to discover and transmit knowledge and to make lasting Contributions to a global society through critical thinking, scholarship and innovation. "
