Ricardo Miguel Moreira da Costa [ ʁikaɾðu kɔʃtɐ ] (born 16 May 1981 in Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal) is a Portuguese football player who is under contract at Valencia since 2010. He plays at the position of central defender.

Career

Costa comes from the youth of Boavista Porto and moved at age 18 to local rivals FC Porto. His professional debut for FC he gave in 2002 against Boavista. He belonged to the Portuguese series champion during one of the most successful periods in their history than you UEFA Cup and then the Champions League and then also won the Intercontinental Cup in 2003 year. National

Already in his youth played Ricardo Costa for his country and was nominated several times for the U21 national team of Portugal. He was, among others, also part of the team at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. For the Portuguese national team, he participated in the 2006 World Cup and at the 2010 World Cup.
