Ricardo Delgado (boxer)

Ricardo Delgado Nogales ( born July 13, 1947 in Mexico City) is a former Mexican boxer.

Delgado won in 1966 at the Central American and Caribbean Games silver medal in the flyweight (-51 kg). The same medal he won at the Pan American Games in 1967 after Francisco Rodriguez. At the 1968 Olympic Games Delgado reached after victories over Brendan McCarthy, Ireland (5-0 ), Tetsuaki Nakamura, Japan (5-0 ), and Servilio de Oliveira, Brazil (5-0 ) in the final. In this he faced the Polish Olympic silver medalist from 1964 Artur Olech, whom he beat 5-0 judges vote and won the gold medal.

1969 Delgado was professional, but had little success. Out of 30 fights he could win only 14, four draws. 1972 and 1974 Delgado lost to eventual WBC champion Miguel Canto and 1973 against the eventual WBA champion Betulio Gonzalez.
