Ricardo Oliveira ( born May 6, 1980 in São Paulo ) is a Brazilian footballer.

Career

Association

The striker began his career with 14 years in the youth team of Corinthians. In 2000 he moved to Portuguesa Sao Paulo, where he first came into use in the first team. He stayed 3 years at Portuguesa, before he went for a season to FC Santos. With these he played in the Copa Libertadores 2003, where they reached the final against the Argentine representative Boca Juniors. This was 0:2 and 1:3 lost, so that the club missed the win. With nine goals in the competition Oliveira was top scorer along with Boca striker Marcelo Delgado.

Oliveira was brought to Spain in the summer of 2003 from FC Valencia. With the club he was Spanish champion and 2004 UEFA Cup winners and scored eight goals in 21 games. After that, he was engaged by Betis Sevilla. In the season 2004/ 05 he scored in 36 games for Betis 22 goals, and also contributed a goal in a 2-1 victory in the final of the Copa del Rey at.

In his second season at Betis he came because of injuries, including a torn ACL, only 9 missions and was awarded the 2006 Sao Paulo, to recuperate in his home. He played for São Paulo in the Copa Libertadores 2006, but had only one loan contract to August 10 in 2006 and had to return to Real Betis afterwards. Since the decisive match took place at the Copa victory due to a change of date until 16 August Oliveira tried to reach a deferment, but the Spaniards refused and he thus missed the biggest game of his career.

After his return to Betis, there was a conflict with the club president Manuel Ruiz de Lopera. The dispute ended on 31 August 2006, Oliveira AC Milan a five -year contract signed and moved for a transfer fee of € 15 million to Italy.

For the 2007/08 season Oliveira was loaned for a year at Real Zaragoza. Zaragoza secured a purchase option of € 10 million, after initially bind to the long term by Oliveira. National

Ricardo Oliveira was Brazil's national team. His first official use in the national selection had the striker on 8 July 2004 during the Copa America with Chile. At the time, coach Carlos Alberto Parreira joined him in the 63rd minute for Adriano. Previously, he played on May 25 in an unofficial match against the selection of Catalonia, where at in a 5-2 success was a hit. Overall Oliveira graduated 13 or twelve games for the national team, except in the Copa América 2004, inter alia, the Confederations Cup 2005 in Germany. Both competitions won Brazil.
