When Ricardo Pinto in 1983 moved to London and was looking for a job, he learned of a job offer as a programmer for computer games and was unceremoniously pretend to more knowledge in this area, as was indeed the case and got the job. After a few years in this company Pinto moved a couple of times the job and eventually ended up at the company "Fantasy Forge ", which had established a friend of his. There his job was no longer the sole programming of computer games, but also the designing of these virtual worlds in book format. This excursion into the world of writing reminded him again to his hitherto unwritten ideas and Pinto began writing in " The Elect ". After years of working on this novel, he presented an early version of the book his agent Victoria Hobbs.
