Ricardo Semler

Ricardo Semler ( born 1959 in São Paulo) is the CEO and majority owner of Semco S / A, a Brazilian company that has become known for his radical democratization. Under Semler line sales of 4 million U.S. dollars increased in 1982 to 212 million in 2003 ( an increase of 21 % pa). The number of employees increased from 90 to 3,000. Semler management methods have found great interest worldwide.

1990 chose the Wall Street Journal Ricardo Semler to the Latin American Businessman of the Year, 1990 and 1992, he was also Brazilian businessman of the year.

Semler was Vice President of the Federation of Industries of Brazil and the board of SOS Atlantic Forest, Brazil's most important environmental organization. In 2003 he founded the first democratic school in Brazil, the Lumiar School.

Ricardo Semler's first book, Turning the tables was the best-selling non-fiction book in the history of Brazil and has been translated into 23 languages. It describes the " revolutionary leadership model " and is under the title The Semco system first appeared in 1993 in German language.
