Riccardo Bacchelli

Riccardo Bacchelli ( born April 19, 1891 in Bologna, † October 8, 1985 in Monza ) was an Italian journalist and writer.

Life

After Bacchelli had worked for several years as a journalist, he established himself as a freelance writer. In Bacchellis early work was - in addition to plays and short stories - poetry a great focus; in later works, there were then more and more novels.

Europe known he was but with his historical novels, which he could make just as knowledgeable as exciting. In " The Mill on the Po " draws Bacchelli a lifelike picture of the history of Italy from the end of the Napoleonic era to the emergence of the modern state of Italy. About the history of Italian socialism Bacchelli provides information in its critical work, "The Devil on the Pontelungo ".

At the age of 94 years the writer Riccardo Baccelli died on 8 October 1985 in Monza.
