Use as a food

In Japan, there were several cases of mass poisoning, the so-called Yusho disease through contaminated with polychlorinated biphenyls rice oil.

Use as a renewable resource

Rice bran oil is used in addition to the use as food mainly in cosmetics. It serves as raw material for the production of certain varieties of soap.

In addition, it is used for the suppression of oxidation in cosmetic formulations, even though it contains unsaturated fatty acids.

A more recent application is the use as drilling mud in oil production.
