The Rice - Eccles Stadium is a stadium in the U.S. city of Salt Lake City. It serves mainly as a venue of the football team of the University of Utah, the Utah Utes ( NCAA). From 2005 to 2008 also the soccer team Real Salt Lake ( MLS) was located.
History
The stadium was originally built in 1927 for 133,000 dollars and expanded first in 1972 before it was then in 1998 for the Olympic Winter Games of 2002 completely rebuilt.
During the Winter Olympics, the opening and closing ceremonies were held in the for this time in " Rice-Eccles Olympic Stadium " renamed stadium.
