Rich Perry

Rich Perry ( born July 22, 1955 in Cleveland, Ohio) is an American jazz tenor saxophonist.

Rich Perry studied at Bowling Green State University before he moved to New York. In 1975 he went with the Glenn Miller Orchestra ( Ghost Band) on tour; In 1976 he was a member of the Thad Jones / Mel Lewis Orchestra. He also played with Chet Baker, Machito, Bob Moses, Jack McDuff, Billy Hart, Eddie Gomez, Tom Harrell and Harold Danko. Since 1993, recorded a number of albums for the label Steeplechase Records, where Danko, Jeff Hirshfield, Fred Hersch, Tom Rainey, Jay Anderson, Victor Lewis, Billy Drummond and George Mraz participated. Perry is currently a member of the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra; He also played in Maria Schneider Orchestra. He teaches at William Paterson University. Throughout his career, he also worked on recordings by Rufus Reid, George Mraz, Fred Hersch, Ron McClure, Andy LaVerne, Paul Bley, John Fedchock New York Big Band, Dave Stryker, Lee Konitz ( " Richlee " ) and Joe Henderson Big with ribbon.
