Richard Brothers

Richard Brothers ( * 1757, † 1824) was a British naval officer and the founder of a theological special teaching.

Brothers experienced from the 1791 apocalyptic visions. At this time, the former Navy officer was already retired. One of his visions led him to want to return the Jews to Israel. Brothers was convinced that the Jews had mixed with the UK population, this is, however, about their true identity in the dark. He is considered the first author and advocate of British Israelism, a special theological doctrine that stem from the British and other northern European peoples from the ten lost tribes of Israel. Brothers considered himself a direct descendant of King David.
