Richard Buck

Richard Buck (born 14 November 1986) is a British sprinter who specializes in the 400 -meter run.

In 2006 he was part of the England team for the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, but had to do without because of an injury to a start. At the 2007 World Championships in Osaka, he came up with the British team in the 4 x 400 - meter relay team to sixth place.

In 2008 he was nomininiert as a reserve for the British relay at the Beijing Olympics, but did not play. At the European Indoor Championships 2009 in Turin, he finished fifth in the individual competition and won with the British Relay silver. In 2010 he won with the British Relay Bronze at the World Indoor Championships in Doha.

2011 Buck won at the European Indoor Championships bronze in the individual race and silver in the relay. In 2012 he became vice - world champion in the relay. At the European Championships in Helsinki won the British squadron silver, single drive Buck was fifth. At the Olympic Games in London shortly afterwards he was substitute runner.

In March 2013 he won the gold medal in the 4 x 400 -meter relay at the European Athletics Indoor Championships 2013 in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Richard Buck is trained by his grandfather Geoff Barraclough and starts for the City of York Athletics Club. He studied at Leeds Metropolitan University.
