Richard Condie

Richard Condie ( born October 24, 1942 in Vancouver, British Columbia ) is a Canadian animator, screenwriter, director and film producer.

Life

Condie grew up in Winnipeg, where he attended Kelvin High School. Subsequently, he received his bachelors degree in sociology at the University of Manitoba. In 1967 he moved back to Vancouver where he worked as a sociologist at the University of British Columbia. After two years he returned to Winnipeg. In the 1970s he began to work as an animator and produced the short film Oh Sure. In 1986 he was awarded for The Big Snit with the Genie Award, he was also nominated for an Oscar. Together with Cordell Barker, he produced the short film The Cat Came Back, for which he was awarded with another Genie Award. In 1996 he moved from the classic animated film for computer animation, for La Salla, he received his second Oscar nomination.
