Richard D. Zanuck

Richard Darryl Zanuck ( born December 13, 1934 in Los Angeles, California, † July 13, 2012 in Beverly Hills ) was an American film producer.

Life

Richard D. Zanuck was born into one of the most famous families in Hollywood. His father, Darryl F. Zanuck was a successful producer and head of 20th Century Fox.

Zanuck visited in Los Angeles, the Harvard Military School (Harvard - Westlake School) and then began studying at Stanford University. During his studies he worked in the author division of Fox. After his father had set up a branch office by 20th Century Fox in Paris, Richard D. Zanuck served as the Vice President, based in the United States department of the production company.

In 1969 Zanuck junior management of the company. With David Brown as co- producer, he produced movies like The Boston Strangler with Tony Curtis. In 1973, Zanuck along with David Brown production company Zanuck / Brown Company, which produced films like Jaws and the Cocoon series. Later Zanuck founded together with Lili Fini Zanuck his third wife, the production company, The Zanuck Company, among whose productions Mulholland, Planet of the Apes and Out of Control.

Prior to his marriage with Lili Fini Zanuck Richard D. Zanuck from 1958 to 1968 with Lili Gentle and 1969-1978 was married to Linda Harrison. His marriage to Harrison originate the two sons Harrison and Dean Zanuck, both of which are also active in the film business.

Zanuck was nominated three times for the Academy Award for Best Film and was able to answer him in 1990 Lili Fini Zanuck, along with Miss Daisy. He was also honored in 1991 with the Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award. Richard D. Zanuck dedicated a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

On July 13, 2012, he died of a heart attack.
