Richard Diamond, Private Detective

Richard Diamond, Private Investigator is an American crime series, which ran until 1953 as a radio play on the radio from 1949 and was produced as a television series from 1957 to 1960. The series is assigned to the genre film noir. The series was produced and published by the label Lauscherlounge as a German -language radio drama between 2007 and 2008, and 2011.

Radio plays

In the American radio drama series Dick Powell speaks the protagonists in about 157 episodes with a duration of about 30 minutes, the recordings are partly to be lost. The dialogue books, however, still exist. Because Powell was active as a singer in musicals in part, it came to the running joke that Richard Diamond at the end of many episodes singing to his girlfriend something.

In the years 2007 and 2008, 12 episodes were translated into German and published two episodes to a total of 6 CDs. Five of these episodes are considered lost in the American original. 2011 could be secured by means of crowdfunding the production of two further consequences.

TV Series

In the television series of the smart private eye David Janssen was shown. His secretary, Sam, was shown only from the waist down to show her legs, was played by Mary Tyler Moore. Throughout the series, the story of intensive New York City to Los Angeles has been moved. The series consisted of 77 episodes of 30 minutes each. In a re-release, the series was renamed for legal reasons Call Mr. D.
