Richard French

Richard French ( * June 20, 1792 at Boonesborough, Kentucky, † May 1, 1854, Covington, Kentucky) was a member of the House of Representatives of the United States from Kentucky. He was born near Boonesborough. His education he enjoyed in French private schools. After finishing school he studied law. He was admitted to the Bar in the United States in 1820, practiced in Winchester ( Kentucky).

Political career

He was a member of the House of Representatives of the United States from 1820-1826. In 1829 he was a judge of the District Court. French was a supporter of Jackson in the 24th Congress of the United States of America (March 4, 1835 - March 3, 1837 ) was chosen. The re- election to the 25th Congress of the United States of America, he could not. Even his candidacy for Governor of Kentucky in 1840 was in vain. Elected - as a Democrat in French was the 28th Congress of the United States of America ( March 3, 1845 March 4, 1843 ). Even in the 30th Congress of the United States Congress (March 4, 1847 - March 3, 1849 ) he was represented.

After the end of his political career, he practiced as a lawyer again. He died in Covington (Kentucky) on 1 May 1854. He was buried in the family vault at Mount Sterling (Kentucky).
