Richard Gregg (social philosopher)

Richard Bartlett Gregg (* 1885, † 1974) was an American social philosopher.

Inspired by Mahatma Gandhi, Richard Gregg developed the first American to a substantial theory of nonviolent resistance, which influenced, among others, Martin Luther King. Richard Gregg was also known for his commitment to a lifestyle that is characterized by " voluntary simplicity ".
