Richard Hammond
Richard Mark Hammond ( born December 19, 1969 in Solihull, England ) is a British radio and television presenter. Since 2002, he presented along with Jeremy Clarkson and James May, the car magazine Top Gear on the BBC.
Hammond began his career as a presenter on local radio stations of the BBC, in York and Leeds. He writes weekly columns for the newspaper The Daily Mirror. He is married to Amanda ( Mindy ) Etheridge since 2002, the couple has two daughters.
Television career
His first television was broadcast Moderation Men & Motors. Until the fourth season of Top Gear, he presented the additional infotainment show Brainiac.

High -speed accident
On 20 September 2006 he had an accident while filming the ninth season of Top Gear with a turbine-powered dragster. Hammond was admitted with severe head injuries in the intensive care unit. Since the end of January 2007, he moderated again. 2008 Hammond said in an interview in the British newspaper The Sunday Times that he had taken the job much too early and still struggle with the effects of head injury. This experience he described with his wife in the book On the Edge.
