Richard Hendrix

Venard Richard Hendrix (born 15 November 1986) is an American professional basketball player. He plays with locomotive Kuban in the Russian Professional Well Basketbolnaja League (PBL ) on loan.

Career

High school

Hendrix attended Athens High School in Athens ( Alabama), where he was coached by his father, Venard Hendrix. He was elected Mr. Basketball of 2005 for Alabama. Hendrix scored 2,915 points in his career and currently holds Alabama High School State Recorde for rebounds ( 1,820 ) and blocks ( 667).

College

After a successful high school career, Hendrix chose the University of Alabama and played for the Crimson Tide. He gave up his final year at the Academy chose the NBA Draft 2008.

USA

Hendrix was drafted by the Golden State Warriors in 49th. Hendrix did with the pre-season, but did not enter the final squad. In November, he came to the farm team of the Warriors, the Bakersfield Jam in the D- League. After the Warriors had released him, Hendrix moved in December 2008 to the league rivals Dakota Wizards. He collected the most rebounds of the D- League in the 2008/2009 season and participated in the NBDL All-Star Game 2009 part.

Europe

In July 2009, Hendrix signed a one-year contract with CB Granada in the Spanish league ACB. He received the ACB Rising Star Award 2010 for Best Newcomer in the Spanish league. After a season in Spain Hendrix joined the Euro League participants Maccabi Tel Aviv. With Maccabi he was an Israeli double winners in 2011 and 2012, and winner of the Adriatic League in 2012. In June 2012, Hendrix signed a two -year contract with the Italian team Olimpia Milano. After the Milanese are excreted in the Euro League early, Hendrix was loaned to the Russian team locomotive Kuban in January 2013. With locomotive he won the Eurocup in 2013 and was elected in the finals MVP.
