Richard Hidalgo

Richard José Hidalgo ( born June 28, 1975 in Caracas ) is a Venezuelan former baseball player.

In 1998, he came as a rookie in the MLB (Major League Baseball ), where he played until 2000 for the Houston Astros.

2001-2002 played Hidalgo in the Philadelphia Phillies. There he got the award twice in a row Gold Glove awarded ( Best Fielder of the league at his position). In 2004, he played for the New York Mets. The last stop of his career in the MLB were the Texas Rangers, where he played in 2005. In 2006, he signed a valid contract for the minor leagues with the Baltimore Orioles. However, the Orioles came to his desire for termination of the contract before the start of the season. In January 2007, the Astros took Hidalgo again under contract, this time for the Minor Leagues. Since he showed no convincing performances in spring training and was not willing to have it sent to a minor league team, the Astros broke the contract in late 2007 again. In April 2007, he announced the end of his professional career.
