Richard Jenkins

Richard Jenkins ( born May 4, 1947 in DeKalb, Illinois ) is an American actor.

Life

Richard Jenkins graduated from Wesleyan University in Illinois, he moved to Rhode Iceland. He first worked in the management of the Trinity Repertory Theater and made his debut as an actor in the TV movie Feasting with Panthers in 1974 for his role in the comedy Flirting with Disaster -. A disaster of Hazzard (1996 ), in which Jenkins with Ben Stiller, Patricia Arquette, Téa Leoni and Alan Alda played, he was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award. In the film drama Random Hearts (1999 ), he starred opposite Harrison Ford and Kristin Scott Thomas a greater role in the film lane change (2003 ), he starred opposite Ben Affleck and Samuel L. Jackson in the movie The Core - The Core (2003 ) next Aaron Eckhart and Hilary Swank. In the years 2001 to 2005, he appeared in the television series Six Feet Under - Died is always on. In the comedy Dick and Jane (2005) Jenkins played intricate in the machinations at Globodyne manager Frank Buscombe. The biggest success of his film career earned him the male lead role in Thomas McCarthy's drama The Visitor. For the part of a widowed college professor who befriends two illegal immigrants, he received the praise of critics and his first Oscar nomination.
