Richard Lower (physician)

Richard Lower ( * 1631 in Tremeer in Bodmin, Cornwall, † January 17, 1691 in London ) was an English physician who was among the first dealt with the question of whether the blood of different animals tolerate each other.

He took this in February 1666, the first successful blood transfusion in two dogs by. The transfusion was continued until the donor dog the death occurred, the receiver dog should have recovered from the procedure.

On October 17, 1667, he was admitted to the proposal from Seth Ward to the Royal Society.
