Richard M. Goodwin

Richard Murphy Goodwin (* 1913 in Indiana; † 13 August 1996) was an American mathematician and economist with Keynesian- Marxist variety and student of Joseph Schumpeter and Wassily Leontief at Harvard University. He got his degree in 1934 and was under the influence of the world economic crisis. Goodwin taught in England and Italy.

Goodwin is known by the so-called Goodwin model, which he introduced in his work A Growth Cycle 1967. The Goodwin model describes the relationship between functional income distribution and economic cycle. The model is the Lotka -Volterra equations based on the wage rate, the role of the predator and the employment rate has the booty.
