Richard Ofshe

Richard Ofshe ( born 1941 ) is a Professor Emeritus of the University of California at Berkeley. He is a member of the False Memory Syndrome Foundation, and is considered a " cult expert ".

Life

Ofshe acquired at New York's Queens College, a BA in Psychology and a BA in sociology from Stanford University and a doctorate in sociology ( specializing in Social Psychology ).

1967 Ofshe was Assistant Professor of Sociology at the University of California at Berkeley. He was appointed in 1971 to associate professor in 1982 and professor.

Paul Ingram

Ofshe was turned on by the prosecution to give to his expert opinion on the case Paul Ingram. He came to the conclusion that Paul Ingram had the crimes he had been standing, not committed. In his opinion, Ingram had been the victim of false memories. Ofshe published a journal article on the phenomenon, which has been criticized.
