Richard Parke

Richard Averell ( "Dick" ) Parks ( born December 13, 1893 in Staten Iceland, New York, † August 23 1950 in St. Moritz, Switzerland ) was an American bobsledder.

Parke was a student at Cornell University. After graduating in 1916, he served in the First World War as an infantry officer on the Western Front in France. Later, he spent every year winter vacation in St. Moritz and came as the American bobsled team. Parke where he took part in the Olympic Winter Games in 1928 and won with the Fünferbob the gold medal. He settled permanently in St. Moritz down and worked, among others, as president of the local ski clubs.
